A program from the Developer Experience team at Google DeepMind, built to provide trusted community partners with the information and confidence they need to speak about and train others in the use of Gemma, our open model family.
The program is designed primarily for GDEs and GDG organizers to use to train others, hence the title, “train the trainer”. The objective is to help scale our messaging around Gemma to places that Google DeepMind cannot directly reach - GDM supports trusted trainers, who then go on to train others.
The program includes:
- 330+ slides across 11 different modules covering almost all aspects of AI
- 40+ slides on the latest Gemma models and their capabilities
- Optional advanced content slides to help speakers tailor their presentations to a wide range of audiences
An important note is that while we do split the deck into modules, we are not prescriptive about how you use the material - you do not have to present the modules as-is. Feel free to chop and change and tailor it to whatever is appropriate for your audience and event format, or even to add your own content.
We hope that this program helps you educate and train your communities.
Thank you!

How do I begin?
Apply to join the Google Group for Train the Trainer participants at https://groups.google.com/g/gemma-ttt-participants.
Once approved, you will have access to the slides.
You can also find the slides at goo.gle/gemma-ttt-decks.
Next, consider attending a Train the Trainer session. There are three sessions a week across APAC, EMEA and NA/LATAM timezones; a calendar with Google Meet information is available at goo.gle/gemma-ttt-sessions-calendar.
If you can’t make it to a Train the Trainer session, consider watching a recording. Our sessions are recorded each time, and are available at goo.gle/gemma-ttt-recordings.
Finally, if you need 1:1 guidance on how to use the material or prepare for a talk, book a 15min slot with Jetha at goo.gle/gemma-ttt-officehours.
How do I tell Google about my talks?
We’ll have a Google Form at some point to make this easier, but for now, just post in the group.Post about your events in the https://groups.google.com/g/gemma-ttt-participants Google Group, with as much information as possible.
Photos, social media posts, and crucially, the numbers of people who registered and attended.
FAQ
- Is all of the material in the slides public / GA information?
Yes! Feel free to talk to anyone about it. - Can I mix this material with information about non-Google AI models or
products?
Yes! We encourage this, actually. We want you to be trusted authorities - Is the material available in languages other than English?
Not presently, but we hope to have a community-driven solution for this soon. -
How can I contribute translations?
We’ll have something for that soon. Likely, we will have an additional Google Group or other access-control list for translation contributors to join, which will give more fine-grained control over the versioning etc.As this would constitute a formal contribution to the program, you would need to sign a formal Contributor Licensing Agreement and submit it to us (see https://cla.developers.google.com/).
-
How do I contribute content?
We love the enthusiasm! For now, contact Jetha at [email protected] with details on your contribution. As with translation contributions, this would constitute a formal contribution to the program, and so you would need to sign a formal Contributor Licensing Agreement and submit it to us (see https://cla.developers.google.com/).
- Can I get QR codes I can use with my talk?
We’re working on a pipeline for this, so stay tuned! - I’m a Googler, can I use this material?
Yes! There’s also an internal version of this content that augments it with advice and information that Googlers might need.
